Holy Trinity, Blythburgh

I am serving as a teacher in an educational institute. At the request of our students, we arranged a trip to the famous church of England. Sunday was fixed for the trip and the Holy Trinity, Blythburgh was selected as a place to visit. We booked the company cabs for our trip. I chose company cab because its cabs are very comfortable and neat and clean. On the specified day, all the students arrived on time at Heathrow Airport. I arranged for students in the cab. After sitting in the cabs, we started our journey again.

The company cab driver was driving carefully. Our students asked the cab driver to play music in the cab. The cab driver played nice music in the background which we enjoyed a lot. I also did my office work by availing the facility of the internet in the cab. Sometime later, we reached the Holy Trinity, Blythburgh. The Holy Trinity Church serves as the local parish for the East Suffolk community of Blythburgh. It has been classed as Grade I on England's National Heritage List since December 1966 and is a part of the Church of England's Halesworth deanery in the diocese of St. Edmundsbury and Ipswich. It is important to distinguish Holy Trinity Church from the neighbouring abandoned Blythburgh Priory.

Blythburgh, which may have been a Saxon minster and had two daughter churches, was a part of the royal estate at the time of the Norman Conquest and possessed one of the richest churches in Suffolk. Sometime between 1116 and 1147, Augustinian canons received a bequest from King Henry I that was most likely the wealthy parent church, which later became the priory of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A daughter church likely existed before Holy Trinity.

We collected some information about the reconstruction of the church and explain it to my students. In the fifteenth century, it was reconstructed. Blythburgh Priory, which had its conventual church, was suppressed as part of the campaign to destroy the monasteries in 1528, and it was finally abolished in 1537. In 1548, local gent Sir Arthur Hopton (1488–1555) was given the remainder of the property.

When Parliament decided to remove what the Puritans considered to be superstitious ornamentation from churches, it severely damaged Holy Trinity during the 17th century. Blythburgh was given to a local Puritan named William Dowsing, who went to the church on 8 April 1644 and ordered the removal of "twenty superstitious pictures, one on the outside of the church; two crosses, one on the porch and another on the steeple; and twenty cherubim to be taken down in the church.

At about 8:00 pm, I called the company cab driver to reach the spot to pick us up from the church. Sometime later, the cab driver arrived on the spot. I along with all my students sat in the cab. The journey starts again towards our destination. Later, we reached our destination. The cab driver dropped us all at the Heathrow Airport, I paid hiring charges to the cab driver. I said goodbye to my students and moved toward my house. This journey was quite different from others, and it was a nice experience in my whole life.
